Glass cabins

Venture inside to see the Northern Lights

Securing yourself a front row seat – or bed, rather – for the world-famous Northern Lights ensures an unforgettable stay in Lapland. As you snuggle up in the cosy bed of your glass cabin, gazing up in awe at the stars, it’s safe to say no book or website on your phone will be able to compete with the spectacular views that are surrounding you. And if you desire to capture exclusive shots of the legendary Aurora Borealis, your exclusive glass cabin will allow you to do so in comfort, out of the cold, with all night to search for the mystical phenomenon, if you wish. (Just remember to get some sleep, there’s much you won’t want to miss the following day!) Though of course the camera isn’t a requirement for everyone, as once seen, the mysteriously beautiful Northern Lights are never forgotten. Your glass cabin is only available for a select few at any time, as you get to be up close and personal with the nighttime showcase, which is dominated by the Arctic tundra, before you wake up to a pretty pink-tinged dawn.

As well as the Northern Lights, this rare and special experience also offers unique access to another of Lapland’s most legendary highlights: the abundant reindeer. Holiday friends were never quite as appealing as these tundra creatures, nor as friendly! And your glass cabin is one of only four, located in the centre of a traditional reindeer ranch, perched at the foot of an imposing fell and surrounded by the snowy Lapland wilderness, which means you’ll have the privilege of sharing the wilderness with these majestic animals for the duration of your stay. Thousands of reindeer call Lapland home – and they'll inevitably be curious to meet their neighbours for the night.

Deer neighbours

Deep inside the Arctic Circle, where a landscape of crisp whiteness stretches for what feels like an eternity, you’ll find a reindeer ranch, where time-old traditions of reindeer herding still prevail. By the ranch, in this snowy desert, you’ll find another unique attraction: the glass cabin. It’s another thrilling and adventurous way to be part of the heart of Lapland and get closer to the region’s most famous inhabitants (not counting Father Christmas himself, of course)! Although the mild-natured reindeers are cautious and timid by nature, they are also curious about the glass cabins – who wouldn't be? – and will feel comfortable wandering over and exploring the small cluster of homes. Inevitably, you’ll fall in love with your new neighbours, as they meander around the cabins, casting their iconic silhouettes against the candescent glow of the Northern Lights, combining two of Lapland’s most famous attractions. The very presence of your four-legged friends serves as a reminder of time-honoured Lapland customs, held very dear (ahem). After all, it has been their home for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.
