Sleigh Bells Ringing

Search the snow-capped forests near Jeris cabins for Santa

Are you ready for the most festive celebrity meet ever? He wears bright red, and the jingly sound of sleigh bells are never far behind him, so Father Christmas should be relatively easy to find, right?

Fortunately, you don’t need to worry about the daunting task of searching for Santa in the expansive snow-capped forests of True Lapland, where the picture-perfect, wintry snowscapes stretch to the horizon and beyond. Because here at Transun, we know exactly where to find the 800-year-old legend of Christmas past, present and future, and can guide you on your journey to his magical hidden abode.

The gem that is Jeris is where we will begin our search. Surrounded by Lapland’s Pallas-Yllas National Park, this is Lapland just as you imagined it – with trees bowing under the weight of the snow and frozen lakes sparkling like diamonds. The crisp snowscapes are pristine and show no trace of the days filled with fun and excitement that are spent here; each adventure is a new start. The deep, soft snow is a perfect playground for adults and children alike – snowmobiling and husky sledding are all part of the adventure. And the reindeer will have you falling head over heels – or rather, antler over hoof – for your furry new pals! Abundantly moseying through the snow at leisure, you’re at once reminded that you’re outnumbered here by Santa’s four-legged helpers. But like any Christmas party, you'll be feeling the more the merrier!

Perhaps it’s no wonder then, that Santa chose to make this his home or that he welcomes you to enjoy this very special corner of the world with him and his team. Of course, no trip to Lapland is complete without a visit to see the Grand Old Man himself – you’ve travelled a long way to see him. So get ready to search for, find and meet a true living legend. Leave room in your luggage for any presents you might be lucky enough to receive from Santa!

What to expect

Situated in the Pallas-Yllas National Park, Lake Jeris is a jewel in Lapland’s crown. Surrounded by the pristine snowscapes of imagination, the breathtaking scenery perfectly complements the activities included in the Sleigh Bells Ringing holiday.

Your trip begins with a direct flight to Enontekio airport, far in the north of Finnish Lapland, saving valuable holiday time by avoiding rushed or lengthy connections in Helsinki. Upon arrival, there is a guided transfer to Jeris of approximately one hour and 15 minutes, after which you collect your thermal suits and boots that you can keep for the duration of your stay. Your accommodation is a traditional Finnish log cabin, which includes its own sauna and log burner. Based on a full-board basis, meals are served in the main hotel building (a short walk from the cabins) and are buffet style, with children’s options available.

This three- or four-night holiday includes an array of exciting activities and excursions, allowing you to make memories that will last a lifetime. It is possible to add some optional experiences to make your time in Lapland extra special, but the activities below are already included in the holiday.

Places are strictly limited, however, to preserve the authenticity of this magical part of the world, so book early to avoid disappointment!
